Commercial Technology
Our buzzing Commercial Tech team is organised cross-functionally, working closely with each part of our commercial operations. We use Java, .NET and React to build our products and services on containerised cloud infrastructure, and our team is made up of Developers, Dev Ops, Testers, Architects and more – the perfect mix to enable successful delivery.
Data
Split into Data Engineering, Decision Sciences and Product, we build and evolve key data platform services, delivering cutting-edge data products across Global. Meanwhile, our full tech stack is based on: Python, Kafka, Databricks, Spark, Snowflake/DBT, Tableau, Terraform and AWS.
Infrastructure
This team includes Broadcast Engineers, Infrastructure Specialists, Helpdesk, Network and Cyber Security Specialists, and Application Support Analysts to name just a few. Our team provides all the vital kit that Globallers need to get the best out of their applications.
Global Player
Global Player allows our listeners to enjoy all of Global's radio brands, award-winning podcasts and expertly curated playlists, all in one place, wherever they are, on an ever-expanding number of platforms — all for free. We’re organised into multidisciplinary teams focused on rapid iteration with frequent releases. We use Swift, Kotlin, React & Node to build our players, backed by micro-services using Python & Java with GraphQL.
Transformation, Change and Delivery
We analyse chunky business problems, make smart recommendations for solutions and implement technology changes all across Global with top-speed efficiency.
These offices are all centrally located, contemporary and have great views and communal spaces for key tech ceremonies. The football tables and Nintendo Switches in particular are used to unwind – Mario Kart, anyone? We’re a dynamic group that loves to collaborate and solve problems for our internal and external customers. We’re also passionate about creating a great team and place to work, which is why we have regular in-person sessions that enables us to quickly move things from ideation to live products and solutions - this includes Department, Team and Discipline focused events and activities in the office. We also understand that sometimes we need a quiet space to get our heads down and that’s when our hybrid working approach kicks in and people can work from home.

I work with some of the smartest people I’ve known with the thirst to learn more, passionate about what they are doing and dependable. Working as team lead for DAX audio streaming, I get to explore exciting technology and design highly efficient solutions for problems. A piece of advice for future Globallers - Ask, talk…we are all friendly and keen to tell you what we do and how it works.
